21 former international captains appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz to ensure Imran Khan’s medical care.
Islamabad – 21 former Test and International cricket captains from around the world have written another letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif demanding medical examination and proper treatment of former Pakistan captain and former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to cricket website ESPNcricinfo, the former captains said in their letter that the Supreme Court has directed that Imran Khan be taken to hospital for a medical examination by a board which will include his personal doctor and his sister Dr Uzma Khan. The court also ordered the resumption of weekly family meetings.
Expressing concern, former captains said that Imran Khan’s stay at the hospital was only for a few hours and he was examined by an officially appointed team instead of the Supreme Court’s medical board, which declared him medically fit and shifted him back to Adiala Jail.
The signatories made three main demands: As directed by the Supreme Court, a medical board should be allowed to conduct a full and independent examination of Imran Khan, particularly regarding the loss of sight in his right eye. That weekly family meetings are ensured without any interruption. and that any treatment recommended on the basis of medical examination should be provided promptly.

The former captains made it clear that they were making the appeal not as politicians but as former teammates and opponents of Imran Khan on the cricket field, and said they had no intention of interfering in Pakistan’s internal legal affairs.
