ISLAMABAD – With thousands of candidates expected to compete for the top civil service posts of Pakistan, the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has unveiled the CSS 2027 exam timeline, ushering in another competitive round of recruitment.
A public notice issued by the commission said that the CSS examination process will begin with registration for the MCQ-based Preliminary Test (MPT), which is a mandatory qualifying test for all candidates aspiring to appear in the written CSS examination. Online applications for MPT will open on 3rd August 2026 and close on 20th August 2026. The screening test is scheduled to be held on 27th September 2026 at examination centers across the country. Only those candidates who successfully clear the MPT will be eligible to proceed to the written phase of the CSS exam.
FPSC has also confirmed that the official notification of CSS 2027 written exam will be released on 8 November 2026. Eligible candidates can submit their online applications between 10 November to 25 November 2026.
Candidates should send a printed copy of their application form along with all required educational certificates and supporting documents to FPSC Headquarters. The last date for submission of these documents is 4th December 2026.
The written exam for CSS 2027 is scheduled to begin on January 27, 2027, ushering in the next phase of Pakistan’s competitive civil services recruitment process. The Commission has advised the candidates to complete all the application formalities within the stipulated time and regularly check the FPSC website for updates, detailed syllabus, examination instructions, and any changes in the schedule.
