During the ongoing search, the Pakistan Navy has diverted PNS Zulfikar to the suspected area, while the Pakistan Air Force has deployed a SAAB 2000 surveillance aircraft to assist in aerial reconnaissance. Additionally, an ATR-72 maritime patrol aircraft of the Pakistan Navy has also been launched to enhance search efforts in the Arabian Sea as authorities search for the missing aircraft.

The plane lost contact with the controllers about 300 km west of Karachi while approaching Pakistani airspace. Sources said the pilots requested assistance after reporting difficulties with the plane’s navigation system. ATC reportedly instructed the crew to maintain their current course.

Moments later, flight tracking data reportedly showed the plane making an unexpected right turn before plunging into a steep descent at an estimated speed of 15,000 feet per minute, a dangerous sequence that raised concerns about an in-flight emergency.

Despite repeated attempts by air traffic controllers to restore contact, no further response was received from the cockpit. Shortly after, the plane disappeared from radar, with initial reports suggesting it had crashed into the Arabian Sea. However, authorities have not yet officially confirmed the accident.

The Pakistan Airport Authority identified the aircraft as K2 Airways flight KTA-1732, a cargo service between Sharjah and Karachi. The aircraft involved was reportedly a Boeing 737-400 freighter bearing registration AP-BOI.

Authorities are expected to launch a comprehensive investigation to determine what caused the sudden loss of contact and the plane’s rapid descent. Investigators will likely review radar data, flight tracking information, ATC recordings, and communications logs to reconstruct the last moments of the flight.
