The NICVD has ordered an inquiry following a viral video in which hospital papers were used to wrap bread.

KARACHI – The National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in Karachi is seen serving bread to a non-vendor wrapped in alleged hospital printed documents after a video went viral on social media.

According to the NICVD spokesperson, an inquiry committee has been constituted to ensure a transparent investigation. One assistant junior storekeeper, three helpers and one security guard have also been issued show-cause notices.

Hospital sources claimed that the institute’s printing material was sold as scrap. However, the spokesperson said that the printed material was discarded due to printing errors.

The spokesperson added that the video circulating on social media was incomplete and misleading, and assured that appropriate legal action would be taken against those responsible once the inquiry is completed.
