The Sindh High Court has rejected YouTube Rajab Butt’s plea to quash the blasphemy case

KARACHI – The Sindh High Court has rejected YouTuber Rajab Butt’s plea to quash the case against him for allegedly desecrating Islamic symbols, and directed the authorities to complete the investigation as soon as possible.

The court rejected Rajab Butt’s plea and directed the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police to ensure that the investigation is completed without any delay.

The court further directed that if the investigating officer does not find any evidence against the accused, an immediate report should be submitted to the concerned trial court.

According to the written order, the High Court’s directions have to be implemented within three weeks.

This decision was issued by the court after the arguments of both the parties were completed and the judgment was reserved.

Rajab Butt is facing a case filed in Karachi’s Hydari Market police station on the complaint of advocate Riaz Solangi.
