RIYADH – A tragic gas cylinder explosion in Riyadh killed five Pakistanis, leaving their families and the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia in mourning.
This fatal explosion took place in the Manfuha area of the Saudi capital. Initial reports indicate that all the five victims belonged to Mansehra district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Saeed, Abid Hussain, Abdul Rehman, Mohammad Mahfouz and Mohammad Rustam.
After the tragedy, the Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh expressed deep sorrow and condoled with the bereaved families. The embassy said its officials are in close contact with the Saudi police and other relevant authorities to monitor the case and facilitate the necessary legal procedures.
According to the embassy, the arrangements for the burial of the deceased in Saudi Arabia or to send their bodies back to Pakistan will be made in collaboration with the Saudi authorities after completing all the legal requirements.
The heartbreaking incident has deeply affected the Pakistani community living in the kingdom, with many mourning the loss of five compatriots. More details about the cause of the explosion are expected as Saudi authorities continue their investigation.
