South Africa defeated Pakistan by 52 runs in the Women’s U-19 third T20I.

South Africa beat Pakistan by 52 runs in the third match of the Women’s Under-19 T20I to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

Chasing a target of 159 runs, Pakistan Women’s Under-19 team was bowled out for 106 runs in 18 overs at the National Bank Stadium on Sunday night. Shahr Bano scored 39 runs off 22 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes.

Arisha Ansari scored 17 runs, Mah Noorzeb scored 12 runs and Maimoona Khalid scored 11 runs. Six Pakistani batsmen failed to reach double figures. Mia Lalor, Malisa and Mbasa took two wickets each for South Africa.

Earlier, the visitors won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 158 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Mike van Voorst scored a brilliant 57 runs off 42 balls including 9 fours.

Danny Lee Boschoff scored an unbeaten 39 off 20 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes. Chris Mary scored 23 runs off 20 balls while Sherba and Deirdre van Oostberg scored 13 and 13 runs respectively.

For Pakistan, Mahim Nazakat took two wickets for 29 runs while Mah Noorzeb, Mah Noor and Maimoona Khalid took one wicket each. The fourth match of the series will be played on Wednesday.
