ISLAMABAD – The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) chaired by Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb approved important decisions related to the petroleum sector in its meeting.

The committee had a detailed discussion on the margins of petrol and high speed diesel dealers. Petroleum Division presented a summary of margin revisions.

The ECC after reviewing the proposal approved the increase in dealers’ margin on petroleum products.

Dealers’ margins on petrol and diesel will increase after the approval. Rs 8.64 to Rs 9.98 per litre.

The meeting was attended by federal ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain, Ali Pervez Malik and Ahsan Khan Cheema, along with federal secretaries and senior officials of relevant ministries.

Earlier, Pakistan Petroleum Dealers had announced the postponement of their planned strike after the petroleum minister assured them of an increase in margins.
