People’s Party chief Bilawal reached London on Friday evening after a brief stay in Paris. Sources say that the PPP chairman has spent about a week in Austria before going to the French capital.

His arrival came when his sister Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari has also reached London with her husband Mehmood Chaudhry and her children. Asifa Bhutto Zardari is also expected to meet her family in the coming days.

According to sources, the family is likely to stay in London for about a week. The high-profile family gathering comes days after Bilawal was forced to publicly address a wave of social media speculation over his alleged engagement and marriage to an Austrian royal.

Bilawal categorically denied the claims, saying that social media had gone as far as to suggest their “engagement” and “marriage” even though no such development had taken place.

The PPP chairman also said that he does not know anyone who is referred to as “Princess Gloria” online. His explanation came after viral reports claimed that he was preparing to marry into an Austrian royal family in Vienna.

Online rumors alleged that President Zardari had traveled to Austria with the family to discuss the proposed marriage and set a wedding date. Some claims even said the wedding could take place by the end of this year, with the alleged bride hailing from Liechtenstein’s capital city of Vaduz.

Bilawal dismissed the speculations and said that any real decision about his personal life will be announced by his family. He urged the public to ignore the social media drama and focus on more serious national issues.

The PPP chairman also criticized his statement on the death of 14 children at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad.

Bilawal questioned how a minister talking about the possibility of dividing Pakistan into 30 parts could make such statements when, in his words, he was unable to manage a single hospital.

He further criticized the comments of a Lahore-based minister regarding the creation of new provinces, saying that such a big constitutional and political question cannot be resolved through street talks or business forums.

He highlighted the historical importance of Sindh Assembly and said that it was the first provincial legislature which supported the establishment of Pakistan.

With Bilawal, Bakhtawar and their families now in London and Asifa expected to arrive, the Bhutto Zardari family’s antics are likely to draw continued attention, especially after intense speculation about Bilawal’s alleged marriage was publicly denied by the PPP chairman himself.
