Pakistani cricketers Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq appeared before the NCCIA.

LAHORE – National cricketers Muhammad Rizwan and Imamul Haq appeared before the National Cyber ​​Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

According to sources, both the cricketers sought more time from the NCCIA to respond to the notices issued to them.

Earlier, the NCCIA had summoned three national cricketers, including Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan, to investigate the information obtained from their mobile phones.

Sources say that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken the mobile phones of the cricketers into their custody and handed them over to the concerned authorities. After that, the NCCIA issued notices to the players and summoned them for questioning.

According to the sources, notices were issued to Imamul Haq and Mohammad Rizwan, while another cricketer was also summoned by the cybercrime agency.

Sources say that the NCCIA will investigate the information obtained from the mobile phones of the players.

The PCB is yet to explain why the mobile phones of the cricketers were taken into custody.

This development has come after heavy defeats to Pakistan in the first two Test matches of the ongoing series against England. After the Lord’s Test, the PCB took emergency measures and removed seven players and coaches from the squad.

The seven players released by the PCB include Muhammad Rizwan, Imamul Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Ali Usman, Aamir Jamal, Owais Zafar and Khurram Shahzad. Head coach Sarfraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul were also released.
