An Afghan man was arrested for sexually abusing the bodies of girls in Peshawar’s cemetery
PESHAWAR – A very disturbing case was reported from Badh Bhir Sheikhan area of Peshawar, where a 19-year-old man was arrested after allegedly digging up the graves of dead girls and sexually abusing their bodies.
The shocking incident came to light after the caretaker of the cemetery allegedly nabbed the suspect during what police described as his fifth alleged attempt with the bodies of dead girls buried at the site. Locals intervened and helped nab the accused before handing him over to the police.

SP president Fida Hussain said the accused allegedly targeted the girls’ graves, removed their bodies and then cleaned and dressed them before sexually assaulting them. The suspect has been identified as 19-year-old Salman son of Afghan, who is said to be an Afghan national currently residing in Bara Qatim. Local people also identified him as Afghan.
According to SP Fida Hussain, the accused had been committing such acts for some time as the preliminary investigation revealed a disturbing pattern.
Police said their preliminary findings indicated that the accused had allegedly raped the bodies of the four deceased girls before he was nabbed during the fifth alleged incident.
The police have also collected information about the areas where the accused allegedly committed previous incidents. Investigators are now reviewing the locations and circumstances surrounding the cases to determine the full extent of his alleged activities.
The accused is in police custody and further investigation is underway. Authorities are also looking into other aspects of the case as investigators work to establish the full sequence of alleged events.
