Amid rumors of Governor’s rule, important meeting started in Islamabad before PTI’s long march
ISLAMABAD – President Asif Ali Zardari will chair an important meeting today to review the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa amid reports of Governor’s rule in the province ahead of PTI’s long march on October 14.
According to reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also likely to meet President Zardari in the President’s House.
The Prime Minister is also having an important meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Amir Maqam to discuss the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile, PTI has decided to protest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa first while revising its strategy for the Islamabad Long March.
According to reports, the long march is scheduled to begin on October 4. A caravan led by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will leave for Islamabad through different areas of the province.
The possibility of starting the march from Dera Ismail Khan is also under consideration while the route and final starting point are being consulted.
Party sources say that a strategy has also been prepared to continue the march for several days in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A tent camp for the workers has been proposed at Swabi or Attock Bridge.
PTI provincial president Junaid Akbar Khan will lead the march from Malakand.
The party had initially announced September 27 as the date for the Islamabad Long March, but it was later postponed to October 4. Recent reporting also confirms that the PTI is discussing arrangements for the October 4 march, including a possible gathering in Swabi or Attock.
