Under the new budget 2026 proposal, government employees, pensioners will get a 7 percent increase

ISLAMABAD – The federal government has proposed several relief measures in the budget 2026-27, including increase in salaries, pensions and minimum wages.

According to the budget proposals, government employees will see a 7 percent increase in their salaries and 7 percent in the pension payments of retired public sector employees. These measures are aimed at providing financial relief and helping individuals cope with the rising cost of living.

The Sharif-led government also recommended a 10 percent increase in the minimum wage, a move that would benefit low-income workers and improve their earning potential.

If approved, the proposed adjustment would affect millions of citizens, including serving and retired government employees as well as minimum wage earners. These measures are part of the government’s broader efforts to support household incomes and strengthen economic stability during the coming fiscal year.
