A change in the cabinet is expected after the approval of the budget, Bilawal Bhutto is likely to get an important portfolio.

ISLAMABAD – The government has reportedly invited the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to join the federal cabinet.

Reports claimed that if the People’s Party agreed to join the cabinet, party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was likely to be given important portfolios.

He further said that after the approval of the budget, a large-scale reshuffle is expected in the federal cabinet, in which many new faces are likely to be included.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also asked for performance reports from all federal ministers. Based on these reports, changes in ministries are expected to begin.

Adjustments can be seen during the reshuffle of key portfolios including commerce, power, housing, communication, finance and foreign affairs.

Reports further suggest that several Special Assistants to the Prime Minister may also be affected by the changes.

On the other hand, senior journalist Aizaz Syed claimed that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is likely to be given the portfolio of Foreign Minister while Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will be given the portfolio of Finance Minister.
