A man from Lahore alleged that his wife fed their three children poisonous ice cream
LAHORE – A heartbreaking tragedy in Lahore’s Valencia Town took a dramatic turn when police recorded the statement of the children’s father, revealing disturbing details about the last moments of a mother and her three children before they were found dead at home.
The man, identified as Nasir, told investigators that his wife had been battling severe psychological stress and mental health issues for the past three years. He further claimed that he had stopped taking his prescribed medicine about six months ago.
Recounting the events that followed the tragedy, Nasir said he returned home with groceries and asked about his children. He allegedly told her that the children had gone to see a movie with Fatima. Surprised, she questions why they went alone, saying that the family could have gone together.
During their conversation, he allegedly urged her to eat ice cream, telling her he hadn’t eaten since morning. Moments later, a knock on the door changed everything.
According to Nasir’s statement, the neighbors informed him that his children were lying in the backyard. When he came out, he found the three children dead. He said that soon after that his wife’s condition also deteriorated after which she was shifted to a nearby hospital.
Nasir suspected that given his wife’s alleged mental state, she might have mixed some unknown substance in the children’s ice cream. Authorities have emphasized that this is only a suspicion raised by the father and has not been established as fact.
Investigators said the case is extremely complex, with multiple possibilities under consideration. Police confirmed that the family originally hails from Sialkot district Pasarur and investigators have also contacted the woman’s relatives based in the US and Canada as part of the investigation.
Police and forensic experts launched an investigation to determine whether the children ingested a toxic substance or were deliberately poisoned. Toxicology and forensic results are expected to play a major role in establishing the cause of death.
Officials insist that every aspect of the case is being examined very carefully, stressing that no conclusions have yet been reached. Investigators say that the real truth of a very disturbing family tragedy in Lahore will be revealed only after the completion of forensic analysis and investigation.
