A new weather system has created a threat of heavy rain in Karachi next week.
The new weather system is turning into a depression, increasing the chances of heavy rain, thundershowers and strong winds in Karachi next week.
A fresh round of severe weather could begin in the Sindh capital next week, with September 14 and 15 emerging as possible dates for heavy rain, thundershowers and gusty winds as a developing weather system strengthens.

The system currently being monitored may intensify into a depression and move towards Sindh, possibly causing widespread rainfall in various parts of the province. If this system tracks close to the coast, Karachi may also be affected.
Forecasters warned that a strong system could bring heavy bursts of rain in the short term, raising the risk of road inundation, urban flooding, traffic disruptions and power outages in Karachi.
The potential weather threat comes as Pakistan continues to experience active monsoon conditions in September, when developing systems can rapidly change in strength and direction.
However, there is still no confirmed forecast of widespread heavy rain in Karachi on September 14 and 15. Extended weather models are changing, leaving the system’s ultimate track, strength, and impact uncertain.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) is monitoring the developing system and will issue official warnings and advisories as its movement becomes clear.
The next few days could be crucial for Karachi residents as meteorologists determine whether the developing system will strengthen and move towards Sindh, or weaken before a significant threat.
Lahore is braced for more rains as a fresh spell is set to hit Punjab this weekend.
