ISLAMABAD – The Pakistani government has simultaneously reduced the prices of petrol. Increase in kerosene prices, creating a distributional effect.

The notification shared by Ogra said that the price of kerosene has been increased by Rs 8.70 paise per litre, taking the new price from Rs 272 per liter to Rs 280.70 per litre.

On Friday, the government cut petrol prices by Rs 4 per liter for the coming week starting June 6. After this cut, petrol will now be available at Rs 377.78 per litre. Meanwhile, the prices of high-speed diesel have been maintained at Rs 380.78 per liter as per the notification of the Petroleum Division.

The latest revision comes just a day after the authorities announced a reduction in petrol prices by Rs 4 per liter while keeping diesel prices unchanged. Back-to-back adjustments reflect continued volatility in fuel pricing policy.

Last month, the government had reduced the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 22 per liter while implementing a major relief package. After this reduction, petrol remained at Rs 381.78 per liter and diesel at Rs 380.78 per litre.

Earlier, fuel prices were quite high, with petrol at Rs 403.78 per liter and diesel at Rs 402.78 per litre. On May 15, another weekly adjustment also brought down the prices of petroleum products by Rs 5 per litre.
