Announcing a public holiday on July 29 on the occasion of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai’s Urs in Sindh

KARACHI – The Sindh government has announced a public holiday across the province on July 29 on the occasion of the annual Urs of the famous Sufi saint Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

According to the official notification, all provincial government offices and semi-government institutions will remain closed on this occasion.

The notification further states that autonomous bodies, local councils and educational institutions across Sindh will also remain closed on July 29.

The annual Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai is celebrated every year on 14 Safar with great religious devotion. The main events take place in Bhat Shah, where three days of religious and cultural events take place.
