Bank of America VP Erin Piacenti was stabbed to death in New York’s Times Square.
NEW YORK – A Bank of America vice president was killed and another victim was seriously injured in a knife attack in New York’s Times Square on Tuesday.
Erin Piacenti was fatally stabbed in what authorities described as an apparently unprovoked attack in Times Square. Piacenti worked for Bank of America in New York as vice president for business selection and disputes. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, she completed her undergraduate studies in 2016 and later received her law degree from Fordham Law School in 2021.

Another person was also stabbed during the scuffle. He survived the attack but was left in critical condition.
The suspect was later confronted by police while allegedly carrying two large knives. Dramatic footage from the scene shows the woman brandishing a weapon as she marches towards police. Officers reportedly deployed Tasers in an attempt to stop him, but the devices failed to subdue him.
The situation quickly escalated as the woman allegedly refused to drop the knife and threatened the officers, warning them she would kill them before moving toward them.
The police then opened fire, hitting the woman in the chest. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities said the suspect had a history of mental illness, while investigators continued to examine the circumstances surrounding the stabbing and fatal police shooting.
