Hajj 2027 application process will start from August 18.
ISLAMABAD – The date for receipt of applications under public and private Hajj schemes for 2027 has been changed, now applications will open on August 18 instead of August 17.
According to reports, Hajj applications and payments can be submitted online or through designated branches of Habib Bank. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and the process will be closed once the allotted quota is filled.
Pakistan’s total Haj quota for 2027 is set at 179,210. Of this, 60 per cent i.e. 107,526 seats have been allocated for the government scheme, while the remaining 40 per cent i.e. 71,684 seats will be available under the private scheme.
According to reports, Haj expenses will be collected in two equal installments, applicants will have to pay half of the total cost while submitting the applications.
This year, Habib Bank has been selected as the only bank to receive Hajj applications, instead of the 16 banks used earlier. The decision has raised fears of possible overcrowding when applications are opened under the first-come-first-served system.
Pilgrims will also be able to apply through Pak Hajj app and website. Payments can be made via OneLink, PSID or credit cards. Applicants will also have the option to download the challan and pay Haj expenses in cash.
Overseas Pakistanis will also be able to submit their applications through the digital system.
Only pilgrims who are already registered under the official Hajj scheme will be eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted for both long and short Hajj packages.
A quota of 30,000 pilgrims has been allocated for the short Haj package while 77,526 seats have been allocated for the long package.
The short Hajj package will last for 20 to 25 days while the long package will last for 38 to 42 days.
The cost of the short official Hajj package has been fixed at Rs 13 lakh, while the cost of the long package will be Rs 12 lakh.
For the first time, applications for the private Hajj scheme will also be received under official supervision. Pilgrims opting for the private scheme will also be able to pay through OneLink, PSID or credit cards.
One percent of Pakistan’s Haj quota has been earmarked for overseas Pakistanis with POC cards, allowing 1,792 pilgrims to perform Haj under a special allocation.
Sources said that the digital system has been introduced to simplify and simplify the process of submitting Hajj applications and making payments.
