India has decided to bat first against Pakistan in the Asian Games 2026 final.
India won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan in the men’s cricket final of the Asian Games 2026 in Nishin, Japan.
The final is being played at the Kuroji Sports Park in Nishin, Japan, with Indian captain Shreyas Iyer deciding the match after winning the toss.
The two teams are competing for the gold medal in what is one of the most anticipated matches of the Asian Games cricket competition.
The final is being played under the threat of rain. According to weather forecasting service AccuWeather, there is a 62 percent chance of rain Saturday morning, dropping to 25 percent by midday.
The weather forecast has given rise to fears that the India-Pakistan final will be affected.
Meanwhile, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Mohsin Naqvi will not attend the men’s cricket medal ceremony after the final.
According to ACC, Naqvi will not be able to travel to the Asian Games due to prior commitments. The ACC said its president has extended his best wishes to the medal-winning teams participating in the Asian Games.
