Islamabad extended market hours amid new summer schedule
ISLAMABAD – Authorities in Islamabad announced revised opening hours for businesses and public places across the capital as part of climate measures introduced to deal with rising temperatures and extended daylight during the summer months.
Under the new schedule, shops, bazaars, malls and other retail outlets will have to close by 9 pm. Restaurants, cafes and other food establishments have extended hours and can stay open until 11:00 pm, while takeaway and delivery services will continue to operate without restrictions.
Marriage halls and function venues have been directed to close by 10:00 pm, to accommodate late night gatherings and more efficiently manage civic activities in the scorching heat.
Essential services are exempted from the restrictions. Hospitals, pharmacies, fuel stations, and IT and telecommunication services will continue to function without interruption.
Officials said the revised hours are part of a broader effort to balance public convenience with energy conservation and streamline commercial activity during the ongoing summer season.
Punjab Market timings have been revised to close at 8 PM from June 2.
