KP Budget 2026-27: Tax relief announced for small properties, low income workers
PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has proposed tax relief measures for the upcoming fiscal year 2026-27 budget, including exemption for residential and commercial properties up to 5 marla and relief for low-income employees. The government also announced that no new taxes will be imposed in the new budget.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi while presenting the budget said that the province has decided not to impose any new tax and has proposed to reduce the rate of infrastructure development cess from 2 percent to 0.75 percent.
He further said that property up to 5 marla will be exempted from tax while hotel bed tax is proposed to be reduced from 7% to 5%.
The budget also proposes to abolish professional tax for minimum monthly income earners and exempt government employees from grades 1 to 6. 30% relief on outstanding tax dues of industrial buildings has also been proposed.
The provincial government added that the tax relief policy for the erstwhile FATA and PATA areas will continue, no new tax will be levied in these areas in the next financial year.
