Momina Iqbal’s sister Ramsha claimed harassment, threats and surveillance.

LAHORE – Actress Momina Iqbal’s sister Ramsha Iqbal has alleged that both the sisters are being threatened and unknown vehicles were sent outside their homes late at night.

Talking to the media at the Punjab Bar Council, Ramsha Iqbal said that unknown persons were sent to the house of Momina Iqbal’s in-laws a day ago. He further said that due to the timely vigilance of the security provided by the government, the unidentified persons escaped from the spot.

He further claimed that people were also sent to their residence at night and were being threatened and harassed. He said that a complaint has been lodged at Chohang police station.

Ramsha Iqbal said that baseless and false allegations have been made against her and her sister and many fabricated complaints are being filed on various forums. She added that she will vigorously defend her sister’s cases.

Meanwhile, the Disciplinary Committee of the Punjab Bar Council held a hearing on the request to suspend the licenses of Ramsha Iqbal and lawyer Saqib Chadhar.

A four-member committee headed by Chairman Abbas Ali Chadhar directed the lawyers involved in the case not to talk to the media about the matter. The chairman questioned lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq about his legal credentials as a barrister and whether his Bar-at-Law degree has been submitted to the Bar Council.

The Disciplinary Committee also directed him to produce the documents of Bar-at-Law qualification.

During the proceedings, questions were raised about Ramsha Iqbal’s legal practice, including whether she had informed the Punjab Bar Council about her employment in Australia, as she is not permitted to practice law while employed.

In response, Ramsha Iqbal said that she had given six to seven interviews in legal attire and clarified that she had been studying in Australia and also worked part-time during extra hours.

He maintained that all allegations against him were false and demanded that any claims regarding his employment be substantiated with documentary evidence.

The chairman remarked that the dispute between two private individuals had been turned into an ego case by the lawyers.

Ramsha Iqbal also said that she worked in Australia during her studies and also did extra work in her spare time.
