Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a visa waiver agreement for holders of diplomatic and official passports.
NEW YORK – Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have taken a step towards facilitating official travel and institutional engagements between the two countries with the signing of an agreement to waive visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official/special passports.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced the development after signing the agreement with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on the sidelines of the 2026 United Nations General Assembly.
“Delighted to announce that on the occasion of #UNGA2026, I signed today with my brother His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan,” Dar announced the agreement.

The official title of this agreement is “Agreement between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Waiver of Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic and Official/Special Passports”.
Dar described the agreement as an important step in the relations between the two countries and said it would facilitate high-level contacts and institutional exchanges.
“This important step will further facilitate high-level engagement and institutional exchange,” he said.
He further linked the agreement to the broader relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, saying it would help advance the two countries’ “sustainable and fraternal strategic partnership” in areas of mutual interest.
The agreement specifically covers holders of diplomatic and official/special passports, with the aim of facilitating official movement and strengthening institutional interaction between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
