Pakistan Army crushed the hideouts of Khawarij across Balochistan and killed 19 terrorists.
QUETTA – Pakistani security forces have killed 19 terrorists, destroyed several hideouts and recovered arms, ammunition and explosives in a series of operations across Balochistan, while one soldier was martyred during the engagement, ISPR said on Wednesday.
The most important operation has been underway since September 21 in Shaaban area of Quetta district, following intelligence reports about the presence of several hideouts allegedly linked to the Indian-sponsored Fitnah-ul-Khawarij and Fitnah-ul-Hindus.
Acting on a tip-off, security forces launched a clearance operation aimed at protecting the local population and eliminating the threat of terrorism from the area. The troops engaged in an exchange of fire with the militants and successfully cleared several hideouts. Thirteen terrorists have been killed so far while arms, ammunition and explosives have been recovered from the cleared sites.
The operation is ongoing as troops continue efforts to completely neutralize the threat and secure the area.
In separate intelligence-led operations on September 22 and 23, security forces targeted terrorist elements in Kech district and Quetta West.
After a fierce exchange of fire, six terrorists were killed, arms and ammunition were recovered during the operations.
However, as a result of the engagement, 39-year-old Subidar Muhammad Jameel, a resident of Taunsa Sharif, Dera Ghazi Khan district, was also martyred. The soldier died while performing his duties.
The security forces say the latest operations are part of the ongoing anti-terror campaign under the National Action Plan under the “Azam Isthikam” framework approved by the Federal Apex Committee.
The campaign will continue in full swing, with security forces and law enforcement agencies reiterating their commitment to eradicate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism and prevent terrorist elements from posing a threat to the country’s population.
