Pakistan Navy has started Sea Spark 2026 exercises involving three forces.
KARACHI – The Pakistan Navy launched its biggest naval exercise ‘SeaSpark 2026’ in Karachi, bringing together warships, submarines, fighter jets, drones, marines and special forces in a major test of the country’s combat readiness.
The exercise officially began on September 2, with the Chief of the Naval Staff leading the opening briefing. Senior officers of Pakistan Armed Forces also attended the meeting.
Prior to the commencement of the exercise, the Naval Chief visited the fleet units and inspected their operational readiness. While talking to the officers and personnel, he stressed that the rapidly changing security environment requires the armed forces to be ready for any eventuality.

SeaSpark 2026 is not limited to naval operations. Personnel and assets of the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force are also participating, creating a joint operational environment involving the country’s three military services.
Warships, submarines, warplanes, unmanned aerial systems, marines and special forces are being put through various operational scenarios to test their ability to work together and quickly respond to potential threats.
The Naval Chief highlighted the importance of close coordination between the three forces, quick decision-making and effective operations in both the conventional battlefield and the information domain.
A major focus of this year’s exercise is multi-domain warfare, bringing naval, air, land, cyber, information and space capabilities into a single operational framework.
Modern warfare is no longer fought only with ships, planes and missiles. Cyber attacks, drones, control over electronic systems and information can also affect the outcome of a conflict.
Therefore, SeaSpark 2026 is being used to practice how the Pakistan Armed Forces can operate in these various domains while maintaining coordination and information superiority.
Protecting Pakistan’s Maritime Lifeline
The exercise has wider strategic significance for Pakistan, whose trade and economic activities depend heavily on secure sea lanes in the Indian Ocean.
The SeaSpark series has traditionally provided the Pakistan Navy with an opportunity to assess its preparedness for security challenges, maritime threats, piracy and potential aggression. This year’s exercise continues to reshape naval operations around the world through rapidly evolving technologies from drones to cyber warfare.
With the participation of the Navy as well as the Army and Air Force, SeaSpark 2026 also highlights Pakistan’s increased focus on joint military operations.
