WASHINGTON – An important meeting on the Iran ceasefire agreement led by US President Donald Trump ended without a final decision.

The talks, which took place in the White House’s Security Room, lasted nearly two hours and focused on key developments regarding Iran.

Officials confirmed that the meeting ended without a resolution, but did not release further details.

The talks followed President Trump’s announcement that the US would end its naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, allowing previously blocked ships to pass through again.

Trump described US naval operations in the region as “successful”, citing their role in protecting global trade and energy supplies.

However, Iran has formally rejected Trump’s statements about possible concessions, including removing enriched uranium and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian news agency Fars reported that informed sources described the president’s claims as a mixture of truth and exaggeration, suggesting that Trump was projecting a “false victory” narrative.

Iranian sources stressed that the draft deal in question does not include several points highlighted by Trump, such as the complete destruction of Iran’s enriched uranium or the unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, the sources claimed that Trump deliberately left out key provisions favorable to Iran, including proposals to restore billions of dollars in frozen Iranian assets and steps toward a full ceasefire in Lebanon.

As negotiations continue, the two sides have yet to reach a mutually agreed settlement, and the future of Iran’s proposed ceasefire extension remains uncertain.
