92 Sikh passengers were turned away at Faisalabad Airport due to incomplete documents.
FAISALABAD – Authorities stopped 92 Pakistani Sikh passengers from traveling at the Faisalabad airport because they did not have incomplete travel documents and the required official No Objection Certificate (NOC).
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said that the passengers were going to India from Faisalabad via Sharjah.
However, they were not allowed to proceed when the authorities realized that they did not have the required documents.
FIA said the passengers did not have return tickets or NOCs required by the government of Pakistan.
Sikh passengers traveling on such tours are required to obtain NOCs from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs.
The passengers reportedly belong to Nankana Sahib and different cities of Pakistan.
The FIA said the travel restrictions were imposed because required documents and government approvals were not available.
The passengers were then prevented from continuing their planned journey from Faisalabad to Sharjah and onwards to India.
Officials reiterated that travelers must complete required documents and obtain necessary approvals before traveling internationally.
