Farrukh Khokhar sentenced to life imprisonment in Majid Sati murder case

Rawalpindi – The Additional District and Sessions Court sentenced Farrukh Khokhar, the main accused in the Majeed Sati murder case, to life imprisonment.

The decision was pronounced by Additional District and Sessions Judge Afshan Ejaz Safi. After the verdict, Farrukh Khokhar was taken into custody from the court room and sent to Adiala Jail under strict security arrangements.

The court also sentenced two other accused, Amir Hamza and Haider Nawaz, to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. The three convicts were later shifted to Adiala Jail.

The case relates to the murder of Majid Sati, who was allegedly murdered on August 23, 2022. A case was registered at Sadiqabad Police Station, the accused are facing charges in connection with the incident.

Farrukh Khokhar rejected the court’s verdict, claiming that he was not present at the crime scene and said his legal team would challenge the verdict.

According to the details of the case, the victim was allegedly targeted for resisting the attempt to occupy the plot. Majid Sati belonged to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) while Farrukh Khokhar was associated with Pakistan Peoples Party before joining Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI).
