Turkey awarded Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir with the highest military award
ANKARA – Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Staff, Field Marshal Seyed Asim Munir, was awarded the Turkish Armed Forces Medal of Distinguished Service, Turkey’s highest military award, during an official visit to Ankara.
Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Seluk Bayraktarooglu presented the honorary award in recognition of Field Marshal Munir’s extraordinary services in strengthening defense cooperation, expanding military cooperation and strengthening the long-standing brotherly ties between the armed forces of Pakistan and Turkey.

This honor adds another distinction to Field Marshal Munir’s growing international profile. Along with this honor, he is said to have received the highest military honors from more than ten countries, making him one of the most decorated military leaders in the world.
Pakistan’s top general received a ceremonial guard of honor on his arrival in Turkey, marking the significance of his visit. In another important gesture, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan personally welcomed Pakistan’s military chief at Ankara Airport, underscoring the strategic depth of ties between the two countries.
