Nawaz Sharif wants to become the prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir because of his love for Kashmiris
Muzaffarabad – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) president and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif made promises while addressing an election rally in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday.
On a lighter note, Sharif said he would ask Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to appoint him as the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) if the party wins the next elections.

Talking to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Nawaz said that he has a deep attachment to the people of both Azad Kashmir and India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), and would personally lead the development of the region if given the opportunity.
Nawaz Sharif said that if the people make Muslim League (N) successful in Azad Kashmir elections, then I will ask Shahbaz Sharif to make me the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir. He said that he personally wants to complete the mission of transforming the state.
The former prime minister announced an ambitious development agenda, promising to increase Azad Kashmir’s budget tenfold after coming to power. He said that the region deserves development like Punjab and pledged that all the major issues facing the state would be solved on priority basis.
Questioning decades of backwardness, Nawaz Sharif asked why Muzaffarabad still lacked a motorway, saying the capital should have been one of the best cities in Pakistan. He proposed the construction of a modern motorway along the Jhelum river, arguing that the project would boost tourism, boost trade and improve connectivity across the region.
Narrating the details of his trip to Muzaffarabad, Nawaz Sharif said that he had asked Maryam Nawaz that the current pace of development and public welfare initiatives in Punjab should be replicated in Azad Kashmir so that the people there can also enjoy the same modern facilities.
He immediately unveiled a package of public welfare measures, announcing that 10 green buses would soon be provided for Muzaffarabad’s public transport system, while 15 mobile hospitals would start functioning in different parts of the region to improve access to healthcare.
Nawaz Sharif further said that if the PML-N government is formed, he will visit Azad Kashmir every three months to personally monitor the development projects, review the implementation of the party’s election manifesto and ensure the fulfillment of the promises made to the people.
