A gang of goat thieves attacked the police and killed 3 people in Pakpattan.
Pakpattan – An encounter with a gang of goat thieves on SP Road in Pakpattan turned tragic when the accused opened fire on police patrolling teams, resulting in a fatal accident while trying to escape.
According to the police, the vehicle of the accused went out of control while running, rammed into a passenger rickshaw and a tree before crushing the passers-by. As a result, three people including two women and a young girl died.
The District Police Officer (DPO) said that 11 other persons were seriously injured and shifted to the hospital for treatment. Two women associated with the gang were arrested from the spot.
Immediately after the incident, the police team reached the area. However, the rest of the suspects abandoned their vehicle and fled to the nearby corn fields.
The DPO added that the area has been cordoned off and a search operation is underway to nab the absconding accused, who are expected to be arrested soon.
