Chery Tiggo 7, 8, 9 PHEV New Prices in Pakistan After Rs 20 Lakh Increase

KARACHI – Chinese carmaker Chery, following other auto brands, has hiked the prices of its plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) by up to Rs 20 lakh in the face of higher government sales tax on hybrid vehicles.

Rather than shifting the entire tax burden to consumers at once, Cherry has opted for a limited-time promotional campaign that temporarily softens the hike before its fully revised prices come into force. Under the new pricing structure, the Tiggo 7 PHEV has gone up to a promotional price of Rs 9.999 million from Rs 9.499 million, but once the offer ends, its official retail price will increase to Rs 10.949 million.

The Tiggo 8 PHEV, which was earlier priced at Rs 11.299 million, is currently available at Rs 11.499 million under a promotional offer. After the campaign expires, customers will have to pay Rs 12.999 million, which reflects a substantial increase.

Meanwhile, the flagship Tiggo 9 PHEV recorded the fastest revision. Its promotional price has now increased to Rs 14.299 million from Rs 13.694 million, while its permanent retail price has been set at Rs 15.749 million, a gross increase of over Rs 2 million from its first sticker price.

The hike follows similar price adjustments in Pakistan’s auto industry following changes in the tax regime for hybrid vehicles. Although Cherry’s temporary promotional offer provides short-term relief, shoppers will eventually have to absorb the full cost after the campaign ends.
