Four officials booked over ‘VIP protocol’ for man released from Sargodha jail after 15 years
Sargodha – A case has been registered against four officials, including a Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) officer, for allegedly providing official protocol to a man released from Sargodha district jail after spending 15 years in prison.
According to details, after the man’s release, the PERA force official and three other officials reached the district jail in government vehicles. Officials reportedly took him to his home.
The freed man was also given a grand welcome, flowers were showered on him. A video of the incident was later widely shared on social media and went viral.
After the video went viral, the authorities registered a case against the paraforce enforcement officer and three other officials for allegedly providing the protocol.
A departmental inquiry has also been ordered to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
