Hindutva extremists harassed Indian Muslims with ‘pig protests’ on Eid-ul-Adha
Harassment of Muslims in India continues, and now Hindutva-inspired extremists have brought pigs to crush the Bakra Eid festival in Mumbai.
A tense situation was reported in a housing society in Mira Road area of Mumbai, where Muslims had brought goats for sacrifice on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, but a group of extremists objected to the presence of sacrificial animals inside the residential complex.
Viral videos circulating online show protesters gathered outside Poonam State One Society during Eid-ul-Azha and BJP-backed protesters reciting the Hanuman Chalisa, expressing their opposition to bringing animals inside.

Some protesters reportedly brought pigs to the venue, which escalated the tension. There have also been claims that attempts were made to enter the community with pigs, resulting in clashes and reports of clashes between groups.
The social media posts further alleged that the Muslim residents living in the society were harassed during the incident while the authorities did not take any action in this sensitive matter.
The incident has since gone viral on social media platforms, with users sharing the video and expressing concern over rising tensions and questions over security and policing in the area.
