ISLAMABAD – Thousands of students seeking admission in medical and dental colleges across Pakistan can now mark their calendars, as the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced that the MDCAT 2026 exam will be held on August 16, 2026.
The Medical Entrance Test is scheduled to take place on Sunday at 10:00 AM, giving candidates a clear timeline to prepare for one of the most important exams in their academic journey.
Online registration for MDCAT will open on June 22, 2026, PMDC said, allowing students to submit their applications and reserve their seat in the test. Candidates will have time till July 8 to complete the registration by paying the prescribed fee of Rs 9,000.
For those not meeting the initial deadline, the council has also announced a late registration window that will remain open until July 13. However, applicants opting for this option will need to pay a higher fee of Rs 13,000.
The announcement comes at a time when many students are ramping up their preparations for the highly competitive entrance test, which plays a key role in determining admissions to medical and dental institutes across the country.
The PMDC advised candidates not to wait till the last moment for registration and urged them to use the remaining weeks wisely by focusing on their studies and exam preparation.
After the exam date is confirmed, aspiring doctors and dentists have less than two months to finalize their registration and accelerate preparations for this crucial test that could shape their future careers.
