Naima Butt’s joke on death certificate portal, NADRA explains
ISLAMABAD – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has rejected claims by Pakistani actress Naima Butt of allegedly linking an online death certificate application page to its services after she shared a screenshot of the portal on social media.
The actress shared a screenshot showing the online death certificate application page with a button labeled “Myself”.
Reacting to the word, Naeema Butt posted a hilarious comment and wrote, “This is for those who are dead inside and are still alive.”
After the post, NADRA issued a clarification, stating that the data entry page shown in the screenshot is not linked to any of its services, systems or official platforms.
Attempts to link unverified or fabricated material to NADRA are misleading and unacceptable, the authority said.
The public is strongly advised not to share or spread false information about NADRA. Any claim related to NADRA should be verified through official NADRA channels before being published or disseminated.
Dissemination of false or misleading information may invite appropriate legal and regulatory action under applicable laws.
