PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar settles check fraud case dispute after 3 FIRs
LAHORE – Muslim League (N) MPA Saqib Khan Chadhar is constantly in the headlines amid a legal tussle with actress Momina Iqbal and now the ruling party’s MLA was named in the check bounce case, but the matter was settled amicably between the parties.
Three check dishonor cases were registered against PML-N MPAs. Saqib Chadhar Amidst new twists in the cases against Chadhar at the Defense A police station.
The cases were registered on the complaint of Mahrukh Arif, a cancer patient who had approached Saqib Khan to sell her property for financial support.
The complainant alleged that he sold his property on Davis Road to Saqib Khan and another accused, Akbar Khan, in a deal worth Rs 60 crore. As part of the deal, he received three checks worth Rs 9 crore.
However, the complainant claimed that the three cheques, totaling Rs 27 crore, were dishonored due to insufficient funds in the account. In his statement, he further alleged that when he demanded his payment, the accused refused to return the money.
Following the complaint, the police of Defense A police station registered three separate cases of check dishonor and initiated legal proceedings.
Later developments suggest that the two sides have come to an understanding after the FIR was lodged, though the authorities have not officially confirmed the outcome of the investigation.
