Security forces action in North Waziristan, 27 terrorists killed: ISPR
RAWALPINDI – Security forces conducted a series of successful intelligence-led operations in North Waziristan’s Miran Shah, killing 27 terrorists in the last 72 hours. This is according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The army’s media wing said security forces targeted several hideouts of the militants, resulting in a fierce exchange of fire in which 27 terrorists were killed. Huge quantity of arms and ammunition have also been recovered from their possession.
ISPR says that the slain terrorists were involved in several terrorist incidents and target killing of innocent civilians.
The army added that the operation was carried out in response to the killing of Malik Saifullah Dawar, a prominent figure of Miran Shah, adding that his killers had been brought to justice.
According to ISPR, a clearance and search operation is underway in the area to eliminate the remaining militants. It added that under the National Action Plan approved by the Federal Apex Committee, the “great persistence” campaign will continue with full intensity till the complete elimination of foreign sponsored terrorism from the country.
