Severe heat wave to remain in most parts of Sindh till May 31: Meteorological Department
KARACHI – According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the severe heat wave is expected to continue till May 31 in most of the districts of Sindh.
The Meteorological Department says that the temperature may rise to 47 to 50 degrees Celsius in Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu and Nawabshah during this time.
Temperatures in Mohenjodaro, Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Khairpur are also predicted to be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal.
Meanwhile, the temperature in Tharparkar, Badin, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Jamshoro is likely to be between 44 and 47 degrees Celsius. Officials have been directed to remain alert and take precautionary measures to avoid any untoward incident.
The Meteorological Department also says that the weather in Karachi is likely to remain hot and humid during the next three days, and strong winds are likely to blow at intervals today.
According to the forecast, the temperature in Karachi today and tomorrow may go up to 37 degrees Celsius, while on Saturday the temperature may go up to 38 degrees Celsius. Southwest sea winds will continue to prevail in the city.
