The woman sought divorce after her husband refused to take her on trips
Sharjah – A woman in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, has reportedly filed for divorce after being frustrated by her husband’s lack of interest in taking her out for recreational activities and travel.
According to Gulf media reports, the woman contacted the Family Guidance Service at Sharjah Courts, complaining that her husband preferred to stay at home and showed little interest in taking her on trips or outings.
This case was discussed by Dr. Razia Hasan Al Rayasi, Director of Family Guidance Department in Sharjah Courts during a television program.
Despite her complaint, the woman described her husband as generous, patient and good-natured.
The Family Guidance Department advised her to consider moving out with her siblings and family instead of getting a divorce. He was also encouraged to work through lifestyle differences and avoid disrupting the stability of the household.
Dr. Razia acknowledged that differences between spouses over lifestyle preferences and recreational activities can sometimes create strain in a marriage. However, she said such differences do not necessarily lead to a breakup.
He also cautioned against turning every disagreement into a legal or family dispute, especially when there are no serious issues affecting the marital relationship.
