2000 per tola gold price increase in Pakistan

KARACHI – Gold prices rose in Pakistan on Friday following a rise in international bullion prices.

The price of gold per tola increased by 2 thousand rupees and reached a record level of 4 lakh 40 thousand 636 rupees. The price of 10 grams of gold also increased by Rs 1715 to Rs 377774.

The price of gold in the international market increased by 20 dollars to close at 4181 dollars per ounce.

Silver prices also increased in the local market. The price of silver rose by Rs 50 to Rs 6578 per tola.

Meanwhile, the benchmark KSE-100 index extended its losses during the first half of Friday’s trading session as investors remained cautious amid reports of additional US troop and aircraft carrier deployments in the Middle East.

At 11:52 am, the index was trading down 819.47 points, or 0.49 percent, at 167,817.38 points.

Selling pressure was seen in several key sectors including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, oil marketing companies and power generation.

Major index heavy stocks including ARL, HUBCO, PSO, SSGC, HBL, NBP and UBL were also trading in negative territory.
