Due to rising water level in river Chenab, flood situation has arisen at several barrages.

LAHORE – The water level in Chenab River is continuously increasing, according to the Irrigation Department, the flood situation remains at many important places.

Officials said there was a high level of flooding in Head Marala, where the water inflow exceeded 275,000 cusecs, while the outflow was recorded at 258,000 cusecs.

Khanki barrage continues to experience moderate flooding, with inflow of 144,903 cusecs and outflow of 139,503 cusecs.

Meanwhile, Kadirabad Barrage is also facing high level of flood, where the inflow is 158,539 cusecs while the discharge is 143,539 cusecs.

The Irrigation Department said it is closely monitoring the situation along the Chenab River and has directed all concerned authorities to be on high alert as the water level continues to rise.
