The price of petrol in Pakistan reached Rs 341.59, diesel reached Rs 368.29
Pakistani authorities have yet again hiked the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, adding another burden to consumers already facing high transportation and household costs.
According to the notification issued by the Petroleum Division of the Ministry of Energy on August 21, 2026, the revised petroleum prices will be applicable from August 22.
The government has also increased the price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs 3.59 per litre, from Rs 364.70 to Rs 368.29 per litre.

The revised rates were determined under the government’s latest petroleum pricing mechanism, in which the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised ex-depot prices as per the federal government’s pricing framework.
The latest hike means motorists will now pay more for each liter of petrol, while higher diesel prices are likely to have a wide-ranging impact on transport, logistics and other diesel-dependent sectors.
According to the official notification, the new rates will be applicable from August 22 to August 24, 2026.
With both major petroleum products becoming more expensive, the latest move is expected to put new pressure on consumers and businesses, particularly through higher transportation and operating costs.
