The price of petrol in Pakistan is Rs 367.75, diesel around Rs 393
Another blow for Pakistanis as petrol and diesel prices have been hiked yet again, putting fresh pressure on vehicle and transport costs across the country.
Petrol 3 rupees 40 paisa per liter expensive, high speed diesel price increased by 6 rupees 72 paisa per liter. {Etrol will now be priced at Rs 367.75 per litre, while high-speed diesel will be sold at Rs 392.67 per litre. The new prices will be effective from September 10.
The latest hike comes days after an already sharp rise in fuel prices, pushing pump prices to levels that are expected to further squeeze household budgets and increase transport costs.
According to the data of the Petroleum Division, in just three days, petrol has become expensive by Rs 21 88 paisa per liter while diesel has become expensive by Rs 14 62 paisa per liter during the same period. The scale of the increase becomes clear when compared to the prices of just three days ago.
On September 7, petrol price was Rs 345.87 per litre. It has now risen by Rs 21.88 to Rs 367.75 per liter in just three days.
Diesel, meanwhile, was priced at Rs 378.05 per liter on September 7 and has now risen to Rs 392.67 per litre, representing an increase of Rs 14.62 per litre.
The fresh fuel shock is expected to cause concern among consumers and businesses alike, with higher diesel prices likely to increase transport and logistics costs while the petrol hike will directly affect millions of vehicles.
