HBL services have been shut down in Pakistan for 3 days, amid a major system upgrade
Karachi – HABIB BANK LIMITED Pakistan’s largest private sector bank serving millions of clients shared an update announcing a temporary halt in its services.
The bank will be offline for three days as it carries out a major system upgrade, marking a significant but planned disruption to improving banking efficiency and reliability in the future.
According to the announcement, the suspension is being done in conjunction with other major banks, including Meezan Bank and Allied Bank, which are also undertaking similar recovery activities during the same period.
The bank said the decision was taken for comprehensive technological upgrades and infrastructure improvements. These enhancements are expected to strengthen both the digital banking system and branch-level services, ensuring better speed, stability and reliability once operations resume.
During the 3-day suspension, all banking services, including the online platform, ATM-related functions, and branch operations, will be unavailable or significantly affected. Customers are advised to plan their financial transactions in advance to avoid inconvenience.
HBL issued a public advisory urging customers to complete immediate payments, withdrawals and transfers ahead of schedule, as normal services will resume only after the maintenance window ends.
The temporary shutdown is part of a broader effort within the banking sector to modernize the system and improve long-term service performance for customers across Pakistan.
