A ban was imposed on bringing crates of mangoes to the Sindh Secretariat.
KARACHI – The Sindh government has banned the bringing of crates of mangoes to the provincial secretariat due to security concerns.
According to an official letter issued in this regard, security personnel have been directed to prevent the entry of mango crates into the secretariat premises.
The directive clearly states that no person shall be allowed to bring boxes or crates of mangoes inside the Secretariat building.
The notification further emphasized that the security personnel should ensure strict implementation of the ban on all types of boxes and crates within the Secretariat premises.
The move comes as part of security measures to maintain controlled access inside government buildings.
The mango season in Pakistan runs from June to September, with peak availability expected between late June and mid-August, according to seasonal fruit patterns across the country.
The season begins with the arrival of Sindhiri mangoes, which usually start harvesting in mid-to-late June. After a while, other early varieties such as Langra and Anwar Ratul become available, increasing the early summer supply.
As the season progresses, Chonsa mangoes—including white, black and nawabpuri varieties—enter the market. These varieties reach their peak in July and remain accessible until mid-September, extending the mango season into late summer.
