Abdul Rahman of Pakistan won the FIH Polygrass Magic Skills Award.

LAHORE – Pakistan’s budding hockey player Abdul Rahman has won the Polygrass Magic Skills Award after global fans voted for the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 in Holland and Belgium.

Abdul Rahman received the prestigious international award for his outstanding display of three-dimensional skills during Pakistan’s match against Wales.

He controlled the ball in the air, beat four opposing defenders and scored a stunning goal.

The goal was hailed by hockey fans worldwide, with Abdul Rahman taking the top spot with 44 percent of the vote. England’s Kenton Melville came second with 39 percent of the vote.

Six of the best moments from around the world — three from the men’s category and three from the women’s category — were shortlisted for the award, which is presented by FIH’s global supplier Politan.

Global voting was held from September 4 to 13. In the women’s category, India’s goalkeeper Bichu Devi Kharibam won the award after securing 52 percent of the votes.

Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani congratulated Abdul Rahman on his achievement and hoped that his success will inspire the new generation of young hockey players in Pakistan.
