Announcing the holiday of Urs of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakaria on 22nd July

Multan – The district administration of Multan has declared a local holiday on July 22 on the occasion of the 787th annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakaria.

According to the official notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Multan Dr. Faisal Saleem, all government offices, public departments and district level institutions in Multan will remain closed on this occasion.

The administration said the holiday has been declared to allow citizens and devotees to attend religious ceremonies and gatherings organized in connection with Urs celebrations.

The Urs of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakaria Multani is one of the most important annual religious gatherings in Multan, attracting pilgrims and devotees from all over Pakistan. Located in the historic city of Multan, this shrine is a prominent center of Sufi tradition and spiritual heritage.

Hazrat Bahauddin Zakaria Multani was a renowned Sufi scholar and spiritual leader of the Suhrawardi Nizam who played an influential role in spreading Islamic teachings in the region during the 13th century. His shrine, located on a prominent hill near the old city area, is known for its distinctive architecture and has religious and cultural significance.

During the annual Urs, devotees gather at the shrine to worship, participate in religious ceremonies, and pay tribute to the Sufi saint’s teachings and legacy.

The event is traditionally celebrated through various spiritual activities and gatherings in which people from different parts of the country participate.
